A way of seeing

After a long day of activity I rest... and as I reflect on the day and the the conversations I had, I realise something, every person has their own special way of seeing! Its not a gender thing at all!!! I see things in a creative way; that is, how can I make, build, design, capture, replicate, birth or bring forth something beautiful / make a contribution from what I am involved in, in that moment or activity. What I see translates into some kind of creative action and when I am unable to make that connection, frustration results...by default non creative and expressive people seem like a hindrance to the process in my eyes too (which is not such a good thing because as people we are all so different).

"I will not reason and compare my business is to create." William Blake

I love this quote by William Blake because it speaks like words from my very heart! My only wish is that I was more naturally gifted in the art of creating...

So at the end of the day I leave you with this; that my blog will take you through many moments that I have lived or have had the honour of witnessing and I will express each experience with all the passion and excitement I can express through an image and a few verses and I hope you come to enjoy and even love...my way of Seeing...

The road less travelled

The tree lined street

This is one of my favourite poems by Robert Frost, I hope you like it too...

The Road Less Travelled

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

A moment of clarity

It was mid October 2009 when I realised that my life was going to change forever and that I was at a turning point in my life as a result of an inexplicable illness that befell me earlier that summer...

My passion for life, people and capturing the moments that make you smile as you remember days gone by started some five years earlier so it was a natural thing to pick up my camera and decide to capture how I saw the world to share (with anyone who would care!). So I did simply pick it up and go out into the world and soon enough I bumped into Peter, a lovely man with a fantastic snow white beard. I stopped him and asked if I could take his picture, right there on the street! And as i begun to take several shots as he told me of his life, "A moment of clarity" was born, a priceless look on his face as he looked up to the heavens...

At that moment I had a moment of clarity... everything does happen for a reason, even sickness of the inexplicable kind!
Up until that moment, I looked but I did not see nor appreciate the beauty of all creation around me which sings of its creator... so my journey began...
